FAQ

Is the GCU a recognized nation?

No. The GCU is a micronation, meaning we do not have legal recognition as a sovereign body. We do hold that we are an independent nation, although we do not have the power to enforce our borders. We are in no way related to the Sovereign Citizens movement, as we both find them absurd, and recognize that while our parent state exists, we may never be fully independent.

Does the GCU pay taxes to the United States?

The GCU as a nation does not, however Citizens of the GCU that hold citizenship in the United States of America are expected to pay taxes to the United States government, as per their citizenship.

How do I become a citizen?

The GCU currently is not accepting new requests for citizenship, however a standing executive order by the triumvirate states that all LGBTQ+ individuals in the United States and abroad are offered citizenship regardless of resident status, as our community faces persecution both in the USA and globally.
