Core tenets:
1: Bigotry will not be tolerated

2: specifically don’t be racist or sexist or homophobic or transphobic

3: no one person can EVER hold all the power

4: A nation CANNOT be built on gentlemen's agreements, it must have codified guardrails

5: voting is a civic duty and is mandatory

6: ALL citizens of the GCU must provide for the welfare of the GCU in whatever way they can

7: food, water, and shelter are fundamental rights

8: all people have the inalienable rights to the means of survival, the means to better oneself, and the means to learn.

9: The GCU will be led by a triumvirate of elected citizens who will serve for a term of six years. Each member of the triumvirate may veto each other. The triumvirate will ratify bills passed by the High Council (legislative branch) once one exists. The High Council will be made of three elected representatives from each district. The High Council will vote on bills proposed by the citizens via mass vote. Council members will serve a term of 3 years.

10: The judiciary branch will be composed of elected judges who will serve a term of 6 years. Judges will oversee trials and will determine if passed laws are constitutional. If a law is unconstitutional, it must be returned to the Council for review. The Judiciary will be overseen by an Ethics Committee of randomly selected citizens who can nullify a judicial decision if it is deemed unjust, and who can be removed via mass vote. Ethics Committee members may serve a term of 2 years.

11: Transgender and Nonbinary, and all other 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals are federally recognized.

12: In the event of legal recognition as a state, a taxation office may be organized.

13: The rights of a citizen to keep and bear arms may not be infringed, as set precedent by the United States second amendment. Safety training is required. 

14: this document may be amended by the three triumvirs or the council upon a majority vote. The triumvirs cannot give themselves undue power via this method, nor can the council. An attempt to centralize power in either branch shall be considered treasonous.

15: the punishment for treason is exile

16: the currency of the GCU shall be as follows: 

• $10 = 1 Pine

• $5 = 1 Cone

• $1 = 1 Needle

• $0.25 = 1 Palmetto

• $0.10 = 1 Frond

• $0.05 = 1 Blade
   

17: The government has no business in religion and vice versa. No laws based on religion shall be permitted. No state religion will be formed.
